Refugees Action Centre Project

Provides information, advice, and support in the following areas:

• Housing: Assisting people by filling forms, and translating
• Immigration: Directing people to a solicitor (working in partnership with ASREP African Swahiliphone Refugee Project in the UK)
• Employment: Helping People to find a job by newsletter, internet, and also helping to fill in application forms.
• Education and Training: ESOL ( English for Speakers of Other Languages) and Computer Working in partnership with South Thames College.

Refugees Action Centre also organises seminars and workshops on health promotion: AIDS/HIV, mental health, drugs and alcohol use, translation services.

The Refugees Action Centre Produces a leaflet to keep its members informed on the above issues.

We also work with children and youngsters and teach Lingala, and French languages and African culture.
